San Francisco International Airport Chooses Park Assist’s M4 Smart-Sensor Parking Guidance System

Posted in News

NEW YORK, NY – August 3, 2017 – Park Assist has been awarded the Parking Guidance System (PGS) contract for San Francisco International Airport (SFO) in Long Term Parking 1 and Long Term Parking 2 garages. SFO is the largest airport in Northern California and one of the top ten busiest airports in the United States. It serves as an international airport with four runways, four terminals and millions of passengers traveling through each year. In order to maintain their status as a premier airport facility, the management team at San Francisco International Airport decided to invest in a leading PGS Solution to further elevate their customer service experience. Park Assist’s M4 camera based smart-sensor powered technology was selected along with a set of features to help SFO reduce costs, create new revenue opportunities and create an innovative driven parking system. It will also be fully integrated with the PARCS system to add more seamless functionality and enhance the customer experience even further.

The M4 camera based smart-sensor system uses License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology as well as digital directional signage which helps to guide drivers to the nearest available space. Upon entry to the facility, airport branded signs are utilized to clearly communicate parking space availability and let visitors know where to turn. Park Assist’s signage is configured to display real-time parking availability throughout the entire facility of over 1,200 spaces.

San Francisco visitors will now enjoy effortless parking, with guidance throughout the entire garage, and even back to their car using Park Assist’s Find Your Car™ feature via the airport’s mobile app. Once the system is fully installed, a complete integration with other technology currently in use at the facility will take place – to ensure a seamless exchange of data between all parking systems and software.

In addition to sensors and intuitive controls, Park Assist’s Park Surveillance™ feature will be added to the project scope to serve as a security enhancement. With the addition of Park Surveillance™the camera based system can capture streaming video whenever motion is detected in or around a space, or continuously – if desired. For guests, Park Surveillance™ provides a piece of mind, knowing their vehicles are being effectively monitored.

“We are delighted to work with San Francisco International Airport in delivering an exceptional customer experience in parking while helping to create more operational efficiencies and conveniences,” said Gary Neff, CEO at Park Assist.
