San Antonio Airport Chooses Park Assist’s M4 Smart-Sensor Parking Guidance System

Posted in News

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – June 1, 2017 – Park Assist has been awarded the Parking Guidance System (PGS) contract for SAIA, located in uptown San Antonio, Texas. This historic San Antonio Airport serves as an international airport with three runways, two terminals and over 8.5 million passengers traveling through each year. In order to maintain their status as a premier airport facility, the management team at San Antonio airport decided to invest in a leading PGS Solution to further elevate their customer service experience. Park Assist’s M4 smart-sensor powered technology was selected to help with this objective, as well as provide a set of features to help SAIA reduce costs, provide additional operational benefits, and increase revenue through a dynamic, robust and fully integrated parking system.

The M4 smart-sensor system uses License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology as well as directional signage which helps to guide drivers to the nearest available space. Upon the entry to the facility, airport branded signs are utilized to communicate clearly and let visitors know where to turn. Park Assist’s signage is configured to display real-time parking availability from start to finish throughout the entire facility of over 1,200 spaces.

San Antonio Airport visitors will now enjoy effortless parking, with guidance throughout the entire garage, and even back to their car using Park Assist’s Find Your Car™ feature via the airport’s mobile app. Once the system is fully installed, a complete integration with other technology currently in use at the facility will take place – to ensure a seamless exchange of data between all parking systems and software.

In addition to sensors and intuitive controls, Park Assist’s Park Surveillance™ feature was added to the project scope to serve as a security enhancement along with the PGS for the airport. With the addition of Park Surveillance™, the camera based system can capture streaming video whenever motion is detected in or around a space, or continuously – if desired. This provides an expanded level of centralized visibility and security, bringing an unmatched multi-use functionality that would otherwise be cost-prohibitive. For guests, Park Surveillance™ provides a piece of mind, knowing their vehicles are being effectively monitored.

“We are very excited to announce that San Antonio International Airport is the latest leading airport to utilize our camera-basedGS to offer a world class parking experience. In addition, by deploying several of our innovative software tools the Airport will be able to create more efficiencies and enhance operations.” said Gary Neff, CEO at Park Assist.
