Designer Outlet Center Chooses Park Assist’s M4 Smart-Sensor Parking Guidance System

Posted in News

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – March 6, 2017 – Park Assist will be installing its M4 camera-based parking guidance systems at the Designer Outlet Center’s new expansion project in Roermond, Netherlands. This McArhurGlen’s outlet center is expanding from 63 to 150 stores. Since the opening in November 2001, 30 million customers have visited this center and therefore this expansion initiative will quickly lead to the creation of the largest car park in the Netherlands with 3500 parking spaces accommodating visitors all year round.  With 22 designer outlets close to major cities in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, and carrying over 900 luxury brands, McArthurGlen wants to offer its clients best experience possible. In partnership with this leading designer outlet, Park Assist is excited to implement the most advanced parking guidance system, eliminating waiting times, traffic congestion and elevating the customer service experience.  The new car park for this retail center will be close to the German border, which will provide the Designer Outlet Center with an influx of EU visitors. The European Retail group chose Park Assist because they like the team’s consultative approach, clean look of the system, data analytics and integration value delivered to operators, as well as the additional features such as Park Vision™ and Find Your Car™.

At the DOC, the M4 smart-sensors with dual cameras will be installed above the driving lane to monitor a pair of spaces on each side. This unique vantage point provides the facility operators with an unobstructed view of the parked vehicles – while also providing the drivers with clear sight lines for easy guidance and navigation. The elegantly branded signage with real-time space availability will quickly guide visitors to the nearest spaces providing them with a frustration-free parking experience. With Park Assist’s Park Vision technology, the smart-sensors will be able to capture continuous streaming video around each space connected to the operator’s dashboard, giving visitors a peace-of-mind. Additionally, the project management team requested 150 extra cameras to be added to the garage facility to watch all driving lanes and staircases for enhanced safety. Without Park Assist’s complete integration capabilities, this expanded level of security would be cost-prohibitive.

By the completion of the project, DOC’s shoppers will also be able utilize Park Assist’s Find Your Car™ feature as part of the wayfinding customer service solution. This extremely popular app allows visitors to find the exact location of their vehicles upon exit from the facility by simply typing in their license plate numbers in their smart phone app. The parking on-site staff will also utilize the app on their iPads to locate customer vehicles quickly as part of their premium valet service, further enhancing the customer service experience. “We are delighted to partner with McArthurGlen on this innovative and forward-thinking retail development project where elevating the parker’s experience is highly valued,” said Gary Neff, CEO of Park Assist Worldwide.
