Avi Flax joins Park Assist as a Principal Software Architect. Avi’s been building web apps since 1998. He has designed, built, shipped, and supported software systems for diverse realms including retail, financial services, marketing, insurance, news, and media. He’s a generalist with experience in a variety of tools, techniques, and technologies, and he loves learning new ones. Avi is excited about functional programming, stream data processing, and “serverless” deployment.

Avi is originally from Baltimore, and after 2 years in Brooklyn and 5 in the Upper West Side, now lives in White Plains with his wife Elina, a personal trainer, and his 3-year-old daughter Lielle, a professional ballerina. Some of his interests include feminism, driving, hiking, cycling, travel, the future, Judaism, Israel, science fiction, coffee, video games, comics, gadgets, and science.

Avi is excited to be part of the team and help save drivers around the world from the tedium of old-school parking!
