Park Assist Launches the Next Generation Parking Guidance System

NEW YORK, NY — Park Assist LLC reinforced its status as the world leader in sensor networks with the release of its next generation Parking Guidance System — the MSystem — today. Based on imaging technology, the M3 Park Assist System identifies where vehicles are parked by license plate making it possible for the first time to offer a ‘Find My Car’ feature. Digital images provide a better-than-ever experience for customers, and introduces security- and cash-generating applications that are specifically designed for sophisticated asset owners.

For the first time, the business case for parking guidance is compelling for the mass market of developers and managers.

The M3 System integrates occupancy detection with an  LED light unit to streamline the installation and enhance the user experience. Every parking space is monitored using high-resolution CMOS digital cameras. Status updates are done in real-time using software running on a small computer, and it’s all housed in one weatherproof ceiling unit, for a clean, contemporary look.

HOW IT WORKS

When a car enters a space the onboard computer detects the changes and then passes occupancy data and an images through the row controllers to a central computer for license plate recognition. Remote access to the central station through the Internet provideS unparalleled control and access, including live images from any of (and up to) thousands of cameras throughout the car park.

MORE CUSTOMERS THROUGH IMPROVED SERVICE

Every time a Park Assist program is introduced to a new commercial property, a 3-5% rise in customer visits has been recorded. With the M3, customers can park their cars in 50% less time, with the help of our real-time parking sensors. Information on specific unoccupied parking spaces is communicated via signs and signal lights so drivers know exactly which space is available, and where it is.

And when it’s time to leave, customers can search for their car on customer-friendly kiosks, pay stations and smart phone applications by entering the license plate number of their car.

MORE PARKING CONTROL & ENFORCEMENT

The M3 can immediately identify all vehicles, and provide real-time knowledge of how long they’ve been on-site. This allows for increased protection against prohibited vehicles, and eliminates revenue loss due to customers who claim to have ‘lost their tickets.’ Also, the number of CCTV cameras required can be reduced.

No longer will a parking garage need a nested staff area; simply create a designated area and staff will be notified if they park outside this area. Park Assist also offers a control center that provides support 24/7 through the internet.

MORE PROFITABILITY

Studies show that customers who drive (rather than take public transport) spend 250% more on shopping and are more likely to return. The Park Assist M3 significantly improves the number of customers who attend a time and also drive to a site.

Also, M3 allows for a preferred parking scheme which was never before possible. The M3 allocates the most convenient parking spaces outside key entrances (i.e. outside retail food stores), and allows for short stay parking of 60- or 90-minute time limits.

As a result; customer can either stay under the time limit, or pay a premium amount to stay in these good access areas over the time limit. The implication is both an improvement in parking access and generates incremental revenues to the asset.
